Wound contact layers provide a barrier between the wound, skin, and the dressing applied. Silicon contact layers, like Silflex by Advancis, are Hydrophobic. That means they don't stick to anything with moisture, thus only sticking to the dry skin around the wound, and not the wound bed itself. This provides pain-free dressing removal.
