-
Advazorb Silfix is an absorbent foam dressing with breathable film backing and soft silicone wound contact layer for pain-free dressing removal
-
The soft silicone ensures that the dressing does not stick to the wet surface of a wound bed or cause trauma to delicate new tissue upon dressing removal
-
Available in regular and lite versions based on the level of wound exudate (drainage)
Indications for Advazorb Foam Dressing with Silflex Silicone Contact Layer:
-
Difficult Acute and Chronic Wounds with Minor to Moderate Exudate
-
Cuts and Abrasions
-
Surgical Wound entry points
-
Superficial Burns (2nd Degree or less)
-
Venous Leg Ulcers (VLU), Pressure Ulcers, and Diabetic Ulcers
- Can I shower without taking off my Advasorb Dressing? The backing is waterproof, but adherence of the Silflex silicone will be lost if exposed to water for a long period of time, because the silicone only sticks to dry skin. If you need to shower, try to limit the amount of moisture hitting the dressing.
- Will exudate and fluid pass through the dressing and soil my garment? The waterproof backing prevents strike-through, and keeps external elements (i.e. bacteria) from entering the dressing.
- Will fluid bunch up in the middle of the dressing - Advazorb will move fluid in all directions to maximize the use of the entire dressing.
- Should I use Advazorb or Advazorb with Silfix? - This depends on the wound. If you need to reduce adhesion between the wound bed and the dressing, Advazorb with Silfix would be the best choice, as it prevents the dressing from sticking to the wound. It is hydrophobic; meaning it doesn't stick to anything that is moist.
